EiffeL GustavE, fondateur et principal actionnaire de la Gaumont, on retrouve ses doubles initiales dans le premier logo de la marque entouré d'une couronne de pétales de marguerite en hommage à sa femme Marguerite décédée quelques années plus tôt. L'incroyable conte de la Fèe Gaumont, ElGé pour les initiales de Léon Gaumont, pourquoi pas simplement LG, plus efficace et qui sera utilisé après le départ de Gustave. Eiffel prend Gaumont comme prête-nom, car a l'époque impliqué dans le scandale du Panamá, pour lequel il fut plus tard blanchi, son nom aurait pu nuire à l'entreprise Étonnant que la Gaumont mette si peu en avant, dans son histoire, le rôle fondateur du français le plus connu à travers le monde depuis plus de cent ans ....
